Momma Mia Pia

Well, I have to say that America got it right last night, sort of, when they voted off Pia on American Idol. The only thing I see that was wrong with the vote off is that she went before Stefano.

I know, I know, everyone is up in arms about Pia being voted off. Everyone loves Pia. I personally think she is overrated. Sure, she can throw her head back, spread out her arms, scream out on a long note but that’s about it really. If you tried it you could probably do it too.

Pia is just not American Idol material, period. She is “old school” so to speak, or that is my opinion anyway. One of the judges, and I can’t remember which one right now, had compared her to Celine Dion. I would go with that comparison too.

Pia will be fine. She has probably already inked a record deal as soon as she dried her tears and walked off the stage last night.

It’s only going to get tougher and tougher as the weeks go by. We are getting down to the nitty gritty with the AI talent that is left. We have eight remaining, right? It is always going to be a shock from here on out.

So here is my prediction for the coming weeks of vote offs, in order that they they will be eliminated:

Stefano Langone
Scotty McCreery
Jacob Lusk
Casey Abrams
Haley Reinhardt
Paul McDonald
Lauren Alaina
leaving James Durbin as the winner

You realize that I am more than likely dead wrong on these predictions. I am a 40-something year old woman, not a teeny bopper. Personally, I’d like to see Haley or Paul win it. But neither of them will, my favorites always get voted off too.

And another thing, what is up with these judges? I miss Simon who at least gave construction criticism and direction. Well, OK, he was at times a little harsh but at least he told the truth. These new judges? All they do is swoon and fawn all over these teenagers.
