We would not have a Christmas tree this year if it were not for my daughter putting it up this week. With my new job and schedule, I was dreading trying to find time to decorate the house for Christmas. So I am very grateful to my daughter for taking up the task for me this holiday season.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my new career with Jo Malone London. I even love being in retail again. The schedule doesn’t bother me at all, I’m not complaining. But it is a retail schedule and I feel like I am always on and always gone. But I do love it.
The Manchild will be home for Christmas break on the 19th of December. Right now, he is doing his Advanced Individual Training for his National Guard job. He will get to come home for Christmas break for a week or two and then he’ll go back to finish his training which will end in March.
The point is that he will come home to find our regular Christmas tree up and waiting to greet him with holiday cheer.
But to be honest, I don’t know how much longer we will be putting up a tree. The kids are grown and will be leaving the nest soon. If we do put up a tree in future years, it will be a much smaller one.
