So this week I’m blogging about my very old pair of Levi blue jeans. I’ve had these jeans for at least 15 years, if not longer. And if I remember correctly, I think I purchased them from a thrift store, so they are more than likely older than 15 years.
These are the first pair of jeans I could fit back in after the birth of my son, 15 years ago. That much I do remember. Yes, they were a few sizes bigger than before I was pregnant the first time but they were still normal and ordinary blue jeans – not maternity pants or sweat pants in which I had lived in for at least a solid two years before these blue jeans.
I love these blue jeans and I wear them at least once a week. But I’m going to have to start limiting my use of them because the are getting some serious holes in places I don’t want holes – places I can’t stitch up or throw a patch over.
People have told me to rip them up and make something out of them, like a purse or something. But I have to admit that I cringe at the thought of ripping my most favorite pair of blue jeans up into pieces. For one thing, I can’t sew. Maybe if I gave them to a person who knew what they were doing, then MAYBE I could appreciate the end result.
Until that time comes, I will continue to wear my blue jeans. I’ll just pair it with a very long top. Then again, spring and summer are approaching so perhaps I can stow them in the back of the closet for just one more season. I’ll pair it with the long tops next fall and winter.
What about you? What is your favorite go-to-comfort piece?
