Porter Magazine by NET-A-PORTER

I have discovered a new magazine! A new magazine to me anyway. PORTER Magazine, powered by the world’s premiere online luxury fashion destination NET-A-PORTER, has one of my favorite actresses on the cover – Cate Blanchett.

Not only does it have an article in it about Cate but it has a variety of pieces that holds my interest. An unexpected moving and inspirational article about Ingrid Betancourt, a former Columbian politician, who was held captive in the jungle by guerrillas for six years has me wondering why I hadn’t heard about this in the news. Maybe it was on the news and I missed it. I’m glad I found the story in PORTER.

Emily Blunt makes me like her even more with her down-to-earth and relatable interview and the importance of story-telling. I am going to play hooky one day and go see Into The Woods.

I learned that Cate Blanchett moved to Sydney to mainly take on the role of co-artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company. It is the same company that gave her the opportunity in her first major role after completing drama school. I’ll admit, though, that I glossed over the political parts of the article. I didn’t want to be disappointed.

Cheryl Strayed, author of WILD made an appearance in the magazine as well as Monica Lewinsky, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Jodie Foster to name a few.

Being swept away to foreign lands and beautiful retreats and spas in this issue was a pleasure. And I also loved the effortless fashion for the go-anywhere nonchalant city girl. I only wish the clothing wasn’t so expensive! But, at least I can get some ideas of my own on how to put an outfit together.

I highly recommend this magazine. I purchased a subscription.

What are some of your favorite magazines to read and escape into?

Thanks for reading and show me your moxie!
