The End of #BlogSpringFever

Well, we made it. It is the end of April and that means we made it to the end of #BlogSpringFever – how did you do? I’ve done these monthly blogging challenges before and have done recap blog posts before. Did I learn anything new?

The End of #BlogSpringFever

What did I learn from blogging every day in April?

Taking time to create and schedule posts for the week ahead. Is this cheating? No, I don’t think so, you are still putting in the work and time.

Perseverance, I have it. I wanted to quit several times because I felt like I was wasting my time. Did I create content? Sure. But was it anything worth reading? I don’t know.

Next time I will create topics more related to my blog brand; Grit, Glam, and GenX.

I learned that I desire to get back to my regular topics of Grit, Glam, and GenX and that I want to take my editorial calendar more seriously.

Somehow, I need to gel all this together with my social media channels. What is it that I want to convey? Right now, I just like doing it, I have fun blogging. I don’t know if anyone else finds this helpful or enjoyable and should I even care? Of course, I care.

How do I figure all of this out? I don’t know. It’s like nailing Jell-O to the wall for me. I know but I don’t know. If that makes any sense whatsoever.

How seriously do I want to do this? I would say fairly serious. I’d like to do this for a living but I guess I don’t know how to go about doing just that.

How do I map out that plan? Or do I just keep creating editorial calendars and keep blogging? Just keep plowing ahead?

Anyway, I suppose all of those are rhetorical questions.

  1. So, for sure, I learned I can blog every day for a month, even with a full-time job. I can create content. Is the content of high quality, useful and informative, something readers want; that is the question.
  2. And, I know I like blogging.

Two Things:
I can do it.
I like to do it.

  1. I have somehow managed to survive many years in blogdom without an editorial calendar. (I do have some recurring features that are sort of scheduled, but they’re only a fraction of what I do.) Then again, I am by no means unique or even special.
