I thought about starting a secret blog in order to release my thoughts on political matters. But why? I’m done hiding and being quiet. I will blog about my political views right here on the blog, under The Moxie Column. The Voters Have Chosen Another Path and the following is my response.
The Voters Have Chosen Another Path
Those were the words from Ted Cruz when he suspended his campaign, “The voters have chosen another path.”
Indeed they have, Ted, indeed they have. Brace yourselves folks, you will get what you deserve with your choices.
No longer am I a part of the Republican party, I’m leaving. I will not vote for Trump and will not vote a Republican ticket for the first time ever.
Matt Walsh captured my sentiments precisely in his latest piece on The Blaze.
And please, stop with the idiotic argument that if I do not support or vote for Trump then I may as well cast a vote for Hillary. No, that is not the case here. What is done is done and you have the Trump supporters/voters to thank for that one. THEY have done this, this is THEIR choice and their doing. They have elected their banty rooster leader as Trump. Hillary will more than likely beat him. She will probably beat him even if all the Ted Cruz people jumped in with Trump. So this is Trump’s doing all by himself, and his worshippers.
Plus, as Matt Walsh so eloquently writes,
Either candidate will, through their vanity, moral vacuousness, and incompetence, inflict fatal damage on the country. Hillary would do so with the hearty endorsement of liberal Democrats, and Trump with that of Republicans. I’d say, if you really had to choose, it’s better that the tyranny comes from the other side than your own. That doesn’t mean I’d vote for Hillary – as I’ve said many times, I’d rather take a bullet to the head – but the situation does bring to mind an Alexander Hamilton quote:
“If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.”
I think there is a very basic voting principle that is as American as the Constitution itself (not that Trump or his fans care much for that old thing), and it’s that we must never actively affirm tyranny. It’s one thing to compromise on a policy here or there, but if a tyrant is seeking the Oval Office, no matter who he is running against, you cannot support him. You cannot support tyranny. Ever. Under any circumstance. Indeed, American have died for the sake of this principle. The least we can do is trouble ourselves to vote third party.
Matt Walsh also goes on to talk about the mainstream media heads and how they campaigned for Trump, hyping him into political stardom. I’m nodding my head in agreement while reading his article.
Fox News should be ashamed of themselves; Hannity, O’Reilly, Fox & Friends, and yes, even Megyn Kelly. I’ve pretty much stopped watching the channel.
Mark my word, The Donald zealots will regret the day they lifted up their golden calf. They will find out rather quickly that he will let them down, abandon them, and generally not give a rat’s ass about them. He will do whatever it takes for Donald only.
He has already proven that he will do and say whatever it takes to get what he wants no matter the cost, truth, or untruths. The worshippers will find out soon enough what they have done. But it will be too late.
The Republican 2016 Presidential nominee probably hasn’t even read the Constitution and even if he has he probably doesn’t understand it. He’ll ignore it, use it as toilet paper. He will make up his own rules and he’ll be “making those deals” that will be a detriment to all of us.
The Republican 2016 Presidential nominee’s ego is so massive and he is so arrogant. He will destroy this country with just his idiocy, obnoxious hot air, and childlike ideation.
The political pundits are all scrambling to be the first to predict his Vice Presidential running mate. They are all throwing out names like Nikki Haley, John Kasich, or even Marco Rubio. Um yeah, that’s not going to happen folks. I predict Dennis Rodman, Charlie Sheen, or Bobby Knight. Or hell, I would not be surprised in the least if he points to one of his kids.
I am in the #NeverTrump and #NeverHillary camps. I’ll cast my vote for a Libertarian this year. And as I said before, this does not mean I may as well be voting for Hillary. No, that is a stupid argument and one of an establishment argument, the establishment that Trump and his supporters were so violently against before but now that is what they are, the ARE the establishment.
The Trump worshippers have voted for Hillary by making HIM their leader. Good luck y’all. And God Have Mercy on us all.
And I love this too from Matt Walsh,
I am no longer associated with the idiotic activities of the GOP and its orange god-king. I refuse to have spent 8 years criticizing President Obama’s unthinking statist minions only to throw my lot in with Trump’s own gaggle of worshiping cultists. The fate of the suicidal, self-mutilating Republican Party is no longer my concern.
I stand with you Matt, and I am glad I am not alone.
Ciao Mio Amore,
