No Oscar For You Man, Pretending To Be A Woman, Because Tweets

No Oscar for a man competing in the women Best Actress category.

Did Hollywood just now discover the internet? It sure seems like it. The man who was nominated in the Best Actress category—because reality is optional these days—just lost before he even had a chance to win. The reason? Mean tweets.

The first openly transgender Oscar nominee for Best Actress, Karla Sofía Gascón, spoke out after being criticized for past controversial social media posts.

Hollywood will believe anything—except reality. They bent over backward to nominate a man in the Best Actress category, but suddenly, old tweets are where they draw the line? The same industry that preaches “follow the science” now tells us chromosomes don’t matter, but a few offensive posts from years ago? That’s unforgivable.

This Karla Sofia Gascon is a man, chromosomes and all. I’ll call him by his birth name, Carlos. That’s a man.

If Hollywood had even a shred of consistency, they’d either stop pretending a man in heels is a woman or admit they only care about scandals when it’s convenient. But, of course, expecting logic from this crowd is like expecting them to age naturally—never gonna happen.

Seriously, though, what even is Emilia Perez? Never heard of it. Then again, I’ve been avoiding most new releases since Hollywood decided every movie needs a mandatory dose of ideological nonsense.

What is Emilia Perez?

A Mexican lawyer is offered an unusual job to help a notorious cartel boss retire and transition into living as a woman, fulfilling a long-held desire.

Really? Are people actually watching this nonsense on purpose? And Hollywood isn’t just tolerating it—they’re showering it with awards like it’s some kind of cinematic masterpiece? If this is what counts as prestige now, we might as well start handing out Oscars at drag brunches. Heaven help us.

Ah, But Wait.

Well, well—looks like Hollywood’s finally facing the music for nominating a man in the female category for Best Actress. Turns out, they’ve “suddenly” discovered a treasure trove of old X posts where Carlos was busy disparaging a certain religion and dropping hot takes on their newly-martyrized King, George Floyd. Who knew?

The genre-bending musical crime drama “Emilia Perez” looked like the streaming service’s strongest shot yet at best picture after winning the jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival and garnering a total of 13 Academy Award nominations.

But prospects for the movie dimmed after a journalist found and translated a series of Spanish-language posts, dating from 2016 through 2020. In them, the film’s Spanish star, Karla Sofia Gascon, described Islam as a “hotbed of infection for humanity” and George Floyd as a “drug addict swindler.” Social media amplified the story to global proportions. – Reuters

What?! Oh my, that’s pretty inflammatory for the Hollywood crowd. Carlos has gone on an apology tour, but it’s not making any difference. He says he will still attend the awards ceremony this Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Look, I’ll give Carlos some credit here. He’s right about a few of those X posts. Yes, you’re definitely seeing more Muslims in your country. Yes, George Floyd had his own issues—let’s not pretend otherwise.

So what happens when a so-called ‘progressive’ liberal trans activist isn’t down with terrorists or drug addicts? Apparently, you strip away their Oscar nomination. Will Carlos ever find work in Hollywood again? Guess that’s the real question.

I might actually start tuning into the Oscars again after a decade of boycotting. Honestly, I just want to watch the drama unfold.
