The Supreme Court has denied Donald Trump’s request to delay sentencing on his 34-count guilty conviction stemming from questionable lawfare tactics. On Friday, January 10, the court will sentence Trump, and we will witness the unprecedented swearing-in of a convicted felon on Inauguration Day, January 20.
President-elect Donald Trump’s last hope to halt Friday’s sentencing in his New York criminal hush money case rests with U.S. Supreme Court, after the New York Court of Appeals, the highest court in the state, on Thursday denied his request to block the sentencing.
Trump on Wednesday launched an eleventh-hour request to New York’s highest court to pause the hush money case, on the same day that he also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to block his sentencing.

Thankfully, no one expects Trump to face any jail time or probation. For a deeper dive into the details, The Victory Girls Blog provides an excellent breakdown of the situation.
Merchan turned the proceedings into one long circus. He let the prosecution repeat for the record multiple lies, did nothing when Michael Cohen admitted ON THE STAND that he embezzled from the Trump organization, and Merchan allowed information in about nonexistent campaign finance violations. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for that sham trial! – Victory Girl Nina
The New York Supreme Court’s decision to deny a delay in sentencing for a case built on flimsy and legally questionable grounds is an outright travesty of justice. Judge Juan Merchan has been anything but impartial throughout this process, and anyone paying attention can see the blatant bias at play.
The Judge
Merchan has a track record that raises serious questions about his ability to preside over this case fairly. Let’s not forget his role in other politically charged cases, where his decisions conveniently aligned with the interests of the anti-Trump crowd. How can we trust a system that stacks the deck from the start?
‘YOU WANT TO SENTENCE HIM?’: Stephen A. Smith goes nuclear on Democratic judge Juan Merchan for moving forward with the NY sentencing against Trump.
Wow.

It’s a calculated attempt to kneecap the man who won the 2024 election and will be sworn in as President on January 20, 2025. They couldn’t beat him at the ballot box in 2016, so now they’re trying to undermine him through the courts.
Despite the media’s gloating, Trump isn’t backing down. He’s not expected to serve jail time or probation, and he’s made it clear that this witch hunt won’t stop him from fighting for the American people.
Meanwhile, the hypocrisy from Judge Merchan and his ilk is glaring. Where’s this level of scrutiny for the political elites who weaponize their power to the detriment of everyday Americans? They’re perfectly fine with it—as long as it’s Trump in the crosshairs.
Friday will come and go, but Trump’s resilience will endure. The left can keep throwing everything they’ve got at him, but they can’t dismantle the movement he’s built. This charade doesn’t fool the American people, and they’re more determined than ever to stand with Trump against a corrupt, biased system.
Will it matter?
Can Donald Trump pardon himself? Well, it’s a state case, not a federal one—so no, he can’t. Any potential pardon would be in the hands of New York’s Governor, Kathy Hochul. And let’s be honest, she won’t be doing him any favors.
Trump can be sentenced in the New York case and still not serve jail time or probation, but the felony conviction would remain on his record. This would not change the fact that he is legally a convicted felon, even if his sentence is relatively lenient.
Trump faces up to four years in prison, but New York Judge Juan Merchan has signaled that he plans to sentence Trump to an unconditional discharge — effectively a blemish on Trump’s record, without prison, fines or probation — in order to respect Trump’s transition efforts and the principle of presidential immunity. – ABC News
Awww, you can see Alvin Bragg’s pouty face right now.
I think this sentencing will come and go without much drama. Trump will likely attend the hearing via Zoom, but he won’t be there in person. We’re just hours away from the sentencing, and I’m not sure if there will be any last-minute appeals or delays. But as things stand, we could very well be looking at a convicted felon being sworn in as our 47th President of the United States. Give ’em hell Donald!
