I don’t have any life hacks to tell you about today for the #BlogSpringFever challenge but I would like to share My Moxie Reading List.
There are some who think reading fiction is a waste of time. I BEG TO DIFFER.
One of the prompts for November’s #BlogLikeCrazy is to share with you what I am reading. I’ve recently picked up the books (or Nook) again to read and I remember why I like to read.
With my son being gone to boot camp and all the horrific news in the world, I’m still trying to carve out some sort of normalcy. I do have another place I can vent but it won’t be here in front of the house.
So, we shall continue….

This blog post is totally inspired by See Jane Write Magazine and the Writeous Babe Project. I had never heard of this “currently” blogging idea until today. But I like it so I thought I’d take the format and implement it here on my blog. And besides, it was the writing prompt for today for #bloglikecrazy.
Watching: Well, Project Runway season is over and it’s not time yet for American Idol. We watch the Food Network a lot, and Fox News. Right this very minute, as I type this, I am watching reruns of Seinfeld. We love Seinfeld in our house. Even though the television seem to be on all the time in our house, it really acts as background noise for me. I’ve never been a big serial watcher. I have never watched one single episode of Lost or Desperate Housewives or Weeds or The Walking Dead or The Big Bang Theory. You get the point. I do watch Downton Abbey though and I’m waiting for that season to start.
Listening to: I don’t listen to a lot of music. The only time you’ll see earbuds in my ears is when I am cleaning the house. However, if you look at my playlist on my iPhone you’ll find a wide variety of tunes, ranging from Tina Turner to Al Green to David Bowie to Harry Connick Jr to Lady GaGa to Prince to The Rolling Stones to Johnny Cash to Van Morrison to Kelly Clarkson, to name a few.
Planning: I don’t really have any plans. And that makes me sad. We just got back from a mini vacation where we went to the beach for a few days. So I am planning on getting back to the grindstone and a regular schedule. I plan to get back to working out on a regular basis and back on my weight loss diet. I am always planning a blog article, so I’ve got that going for me.
Thinking about: I am always thinking about the future. What would it be like if this happened and what would happen if that happened. I am always thinking about the kids and their future. I think about living somewhere else all the time. But that is more like fantasizing instead of thinking. Constantly, I think of what others might think, of anything, and especially what they may think of me. I know, I shouldn’t, but I do. I need to stop that and just get on with it. It seems, too, that I am always thinking of “the next big thing” whatever that may be.
Looking forward to: I am looking forward to the holidays and having the kids home and spending more time with family. I look forward to The Manchild’s high school graduation but also a little sad that that chapter will be closing. I will no longer have either of my kids in high school. And believe it or not, I am always looking forward to the future, no matter what it has in store for me, us.
Reading: Well, I recently started Adriana Trigiani’s nonfiction book titled, “Don’t Sing at the Table: Life Lessons from My Grandmothers.” So far, I am liking it and I am in awe of the women she is describing; very independent, smart, frugal, and business owners. Of course, it is also making me feel very inadequate.
Making me happy: The Gent and my kids make me happy. Each new day that God grants me also makes me happy. It gives me another chance to get it right. My day planner makes me happy. My day filled with blogging activities makes me happy. This weather is making me happy. No sugar is making me happier. Being fit and healthy, making better choices in life are making me happy. Seeing others succeed at their passion makes me very happy and inspired. Being inspired and creative makes me happy. And coffee, coffee makes me happy.
So there it is, and it was fun. I’ll have to try and remember to do this more often, from time to time. I’m sure it will all change.
