A few weeks ago I participated in an online Facebook Jamberry Nail party. First, I loved the fact that the consultant did an online party. I didn’t have to leave the comfort of my home. Second, it was super fun.
This week is yet another hair care product up for review on the blog. For having short hair I sure do use a lot of hair stuff. Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serumis another product I’ve used for years now.
For the life of me, though, I cannot remember how or why I started using it. It was probably suggested by a hair stylist somewhere along the way. I do remember, though, that I only started using it when I chopped off my long hair and went with the short look. My hair is not frizzy normally. It is thin and hardly any volume so the fly-aways probably do occur. I definitely started using the Sleek & Shine before I went blonde. And when I use the Sleek & Shine my hair does seem to be more manageable, it does more of what I want it to do – it lays down better and in place. My hair looks richer and healthier when I use the product.
Continuing on with my theme of shortness, which, by the way, was totally not planned. Sometimes it just comes together without my interference. Don’t you love it when it that happens?
So today I’m going to write about Short Sexy Hair, the product. Right now I use Frenzy and Control Maniac (love that name). These products were suggested to me by my hair stylist, of course.
Since becoming a blonde it was recommended to me to use a purple shampoo to help cut down on the brassy yellowness that can easily happen when you have processed hair. I don’t know if any ole purple shampoo will do but I am swearing by my Cost Cutters brand called Silver Shine.
I love my platinum and extremely short hair. I even want to go a little more silver-ish than blonde in the future and we (my hairdresser and I) are working towards that goal. I’ve learned that it takes time, it is a process. Google Pink’s silver hair in images and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Anyway, in the meantime, I am having to hold down the gold and yellow the best I can in between appointments with my hair stylist. My stylist told me to use Cost Cutter’s Silver Shine. I was of course skeptical in the beginning but I was willing to try anything. I am after all a product junkie.
Oh my goodness gracious! This purple shampoo is awesome and I would pay for it in gold and silver if I had to. I am not a chemist but whatever is in this shampoo definitely works, the shampoo does what it says it will do. It helps neutralize brassy and yellow tones on gray and blonde hair. Brightens and provides moisture for gray and color-treated hair.
No more brassy yellow trying to creep its way back while I am in between appointments. I pay $16.95 for a 33.8 fl oz bottle and I swear it lasts for 3 to 5 months. Since I have short short hair I don’t need a lot of shampoo. Yes, I do normally shampoo twice a day. I can’t help it, I just do. But I only really need one pump from the bottle but seeing as how I am a strong believer of “more is more” I normally pump out 2 to 3 small dollops.
The Silver Shine shampoo by Cost Cutters is one of my must-haves. As long as I remain a blonde I will not use any other shampoo. Period.
This is not the first time I’ve written about Cost Cutters.
