The Truth, what is the truth? Do we have to define it?
I was listening to talk radio the other day and I need to start jotting down the information I hear because now it escapes me about who denounced the whole “your truth” nonsense and on what show it was on!
At any rate, I do remember it was a woman and it sounded a lot like Mercedes Schlapp but I cannot be sure. The woman guest had said that we need to start calling out and denouncing this whole “your truth” movement.
It is a dangerous path to be on, that’s for sure. There is no “your truth” or “my truth” or any of that foggy fanciful jargon. There are facts, and only facts.
Your truth is not going to be my truth. Now, if you want to call it opinion or perspective or even experience, okay fine. Yes. But let’s call it your experience and not the truth.
For example, your experience in buying a car is going to be different from my experience with buying a car. There is a sales transaction involved. There is a vehicle involved. You may have purchased a new car, online. I may have decided to buy a used car, in person, either from a dealership, or a third party, or from a friend. Do you see?
Oh, you want to talk about sexual harassment or rape or murder? Those are all different too. We need facts. Which means investigation. Investigation is truth seeking of the facts, or if you will, a systematic examination or research into allegations.
Ah, allegations. There it is. That is what we are calling truth these days. Society is changing definitions of the words and skewing language, twisting speech into a false narrative. Misrepresentation of the vocabulary, that is what is happening here.
The left is very good at this tactic. Look back over time and you will see what I mean. You can read the following articles for further evidence.
- How the Left’s War on Words Manipulates Your Mind from 2018
- Progressives Redefine Words to Push Socialist Agenda from 2015
Those are just a few articles I found. You can find more with a simple Google search. It should be alarming to everyone. Yet, no one seems to care. As long as someone’s little comfy bubble isn’t disturbed then why should it matter?
This is the attitude that keeps it going. And I am just a little teeny tiny blogger, what can I do right? What I can or can’t do won’t change anything I am sure but I will be able to sleep better at night knowing that I did SOMETHING, no matter how little, even with a simple blog post, calling it out. So, that is what I will do from now on.
