Today, the New York Post published an article explaining why Americans dislike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Given their perceived hypocrisy in their calls for privacy and frequent media appearances, one would think any of those would be a good reason to hate the ex-royals.
But this article says it’s because they let the Queen down. I tend to disagree.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lost favorability in the United States — and one royal expert believes she knows why.
“I give a lot of talks to Americans and they all dislike Harry and Meghan,” Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of the royal biography “My Mother & I,” recently told The Standard.
“They hate that they let the Queen down,” Seward added. – The New York Post
I don’t think that’s why people dislike Harry and Meghan. The public’s disdain for the couple, who married in 2018, stems from their perceived entitlement and behavior.
From the start, it was clear Meghan felt envious, knowing she would always take a backseat to Kate.
Since their fallout with the royal family and their decision to step back from royal duties, Meghan’s attention-grabbing actions, like this recent stunt, only add fuel to the fire.

Meghan Markle led a march ahead of veterans at the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, sparking confusion among some attendees about her prominent position in the parade. Fans on TikTok shared mixed reactions, with some commenting that she “should not have been there” and calling her involvement “disrespectful.” One user speculated that Meghan’s participation might have been an attempt to improve her image ahead of upcoming projects.
Additionally, her controversial interview with bloated head Oprah continues to be a point of criticism.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has renounced his British residency and declared America his home, maintaining a significant distance from his family—both geographically and emotionally.
Meghan Markle seems to thrive on controversy. She quickly discovered that being a princess wasn’t the fairy tale she imagined—it demanded more than the entitled attitude of a spoiled, self-important brat. Unlike the magical Royals of the Magic Kingdom, the real monarchy comes with tradition and responsibility. It became apparent rather quickly that Meghan-poo couldn’t handle the work.
The Real Reason Americans Hate Harry And Meghan
For a brief moment, Meghan played the role of Cinderella, and many of us wanted to believe it. An American regular girl meets, falls in love with, and marries a Prince! Come on! But her misguided actions and ideas shattered the illusion. Instead of Cinderella, Meghan now resembles the vain, scheming stepsisters from the story.
After Meghan realized she would marry Prince Harry, her behavior became embarrassing and off-putting. This is why so many dislike her—she destroyed the fairy tale that captivated us all. Meanwhile, Harry seemed to follow her lead, relinquishing his independence and yielding to her every unreasonable demand, further fueling public disappointment.
Now, everything the pair touches seems to crumble, weighed down by their toxic attitude and divisive outlook.
They can’t even make a lasting impression in Hollywood. Despite their high-profile move to the entertainment industry, their ventures have struggled to gain traction, and their star power appears to be fading. Whether it’s their production projects or public appearances, they’ve failed to capture the success and respect they likely hoped for in Tinseltown.
My hope for the couple in the New Year is that they step back, gain some perspective, and reconcile with the Royal Family. They should show a bit of humility, return to England, and embrace their royal responsibilities. It’s time for them to mature, especially Meghan, and get back to the role they once played in the family.
I mean, seriously, how do you even manage to screw up being a princess? It’s a job where you wear fancy clothes, attend events, and get to live in a palace. How hard could it be to get that right?
