Beauty And The CES 2024

beauty and the ces 2024

Let me share how beauty and the CES 2024 can electrify your glamour routine with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It looks like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) isn’t just for the geeks and nerds anymore. How is the beauty industry getting in on the game?

It also looks like AI isn’t just for creating silly cartoons of yourself or bringing the dead back to keep us entertained. No, it can be used to innovate and perhaps better our lives.

The beauty industry is getting in on the AI movement, and for once, I can see some optimism regarding the new technology.

The CES 2024 was held in Vegas this year, and just once, I think I’d like to attend. Can anyone attend these shows? Unfortunately, it appears to be a trade-only attended event. Oh well. I’ll keep blogging with my GLAM category and try to get in under the media category next time. #bucketlist

Now that I have some new goals and work to do towards them let us begin with what the CES 2024 has to offer in the way of all things beauty and artificial intelligence.

I’ll admit I have been a curmudgeon regarding anything related to AI. I’ve been so very leary of getting anywhere near it. It just doesn’t seem normal.

But beauty and AI? I’m all for it. Here is what was highlighted on Premium Beauty News. I will not list all of them, just those I am interested in.

At Home Manicure Salon by Nimble

I hate to break it to CES, but this technology is already two years old but wasn’t available to consumers until now. The robotic nail painting gadget is called Nimble, and it was a Kickstarter project. In 2021, you could have gotten a great deal on it by pledging a certain amount. But now, you’ll have to pay a total price of $599 in March 2024. Damn, I need to start saving my dollars right now.

A Virtual Beauty Advisor

Move over, Mary Kay; here comes the virtual beauty advisor. They are calling it the L’Oreal Beauty Genius. I am unsure how this differs from Shiseido’s Beauty Genius app, except that the L’Oreal Beauty Genius is an AI virtual beauty advisor in a chatbot. In contrast, Shiseido’s Beauty Genius app is a virtual try-on AI tool.

L’Oreal Chief Executive Nicolas Hieronimus became the first beauty company executive to give a keynote speech at the annual tech trade show.

He acknowledged that L’Oreal seemed like an odd choice to give a high-profile presentation at a show better known for big-screen TVs and smart home devices.

“You may wonder why we are discussing beauty at CES,” Hieronimus said. “Why? Because at L’Oreal we believe that tech can push the boundaries of what’s possible, help us improve the lives of consumers around the world and cater to the infinite diversity of beauty needs and aspirations of every individual.”

I’d give it a try. Maybe it is something about trusting a bot instead of a real person trying to sell a specific product they are trying to move and make the most commission on. Color me skeptical. Of course, what is keeping L’Oreal from writing the code to sell its agenda, too, right? It’s always something.

Custom Printed Makeup

I’m already sold. Sign me up. I heard about this next device a year or so ago, probably around the time of the plandemic. Prinker is the first of its kind in temporary tattoo devices. But it is the creators of Prinker who are bringing us a new device that will apply makeup.

The device will also put AI to work with a biometric 3-D scanner to map facial features and then recommend the right contours, “printing” the corresponding powders to the face. – Premium Beauty News

I am wondering if Mink Beauty got in on this action.

In addition to the AI technology/products mentioned above, you can also read about the Lipcure Beam, high-tech leggings that supposedly stimulate your muscles and infrared hair blowers.

Reading and researching this new technology has me fired up about glamour again! Thanks for reading.
