Bluesky’s Massive Growth With Crybabies

Bluesky’s Massive Grown With Crybabies

The whole world seems divided about every topic. We have our little grouped-off identity politics, and now it’s spread across the World Wide Web. People with little soft feelings can’t hack being on X anymore because Musk supports free speech and Donald J. Trump, so they have left the platform for BlueSky. (Insert eye-roll here).

Bluesky has seen massive growth in the weeks following the US election. As of Tuesday, there are 24 million users on the social media platform. With great engagement comes great responsibility, which means Bluesky CEO Jay Graber has to do a lot to keep her promise to not “enshittify” the platform with ads while still funding its explosive growth. – Wired.com

There is always room for new social media platforms. But I also have to ask: Whatever happened to Parler, Threads, and Vine, or do you also remember Google+?

At least I learned a new word – enshittify. Yes, I had to look that one up, even though I had a feeling.

Enshittification

Enshittification, also known as crapification and platform decay, is a pattern in which online products and services decline in quality.

Yeah, I’ll give it a few months. What’s that? Of course, I created an account there. I had to see what all the commotion was about and keep my eye on the loons.

For instance, isn’t this one lovely?

I’ve studied the video of the CEO being shot and as of now my top suspects are Solid Snake, Agent 47, or the John Cusack character from Grosse Pointe Blank

Oh, and you should see the comments over there on that thread. Disgusting.

So maybe they should have a platform where they can misbehave. They do it in real life, so why not have a social media site to extend their nastiness?

Here is Bluesky’s COO, Rose Wang, explaining what social should look like.

Yeah, go ahead, crybabies. I mean, really? You have to leave a social media platform because of who won the Presidential election? This is where we are? Not that you’ll be missed on X anyway, but still. Go over to a place where everyone agrees with you. Gross.

Oh look, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is the first user to hit a million followers on Bluesky.

The New York Democrat remarked on the exodus in a Tuesday post on Bluesky, saying that those “leaving” X are doing so “because it’s not fun anymore and no one is obligated to be on a platform they don’t enjoy.”

“It’s not rocket science,” she added. – The Hill

Is this her full-time job now? She posts on X, Bluesky, and I’m sure she’s on TikTok. Is this what her constituents want her to do? Be a social media influencer? The social media influencer is the new politician. Think about it. I wrote a blog post about how AOC could be the President-Elect in 2028 all because of social media.

Well, I guess time will tell if Bluesky lasts. I am having a good time reviewing it on my anonymous account and trying to stir the pot. Heh.
