Donald Trump Jr. Signs Deal with Rumble

Don Jr on Rumble

Donald Trump Jr signs a deal with Rumble. It is a multi-million dollar deal as well as a multi-year deal. They call it a podcast deal, but if it is on a video platform, it is no longer a podcast but a video channel. Yes, I am a purist on this topic. The show will be called Triggered with Don Jr.

Rumble has been touted as an alternative to YouTube. I have a channel on Rumble, and I was trying to make my presence over there for a short time. But not as a podcast. Rumble is fun; I like it. I still have my YouTube channel too. Though, I do not use either of the platforms regularly. I also don’t watch a whole lot of videos and video channels either. I am more of a podcast (listening) sort of gal.

Professionals

But yes, the news is reporting it as a podcast deal that Don Jr. signed with Rumble. But it’s no longer a podcast if it resides on a video platform.

For the life of me, I don’t know why a podcast would want to put its show on a video service. Maybe for SEO purposes?

Now, if you are a professional podcast like Pat Gray or someone from the Blaze or something like that, and you have ACTUAL VIDEO that goes along with your audio podcast, then sure, I can see putting it on Rumble or YouTube.

In other words, the more prominent well, recognized names have people operating a camera for them. Professionals. Those are the “podcasts” that should be on a video channel. So yes, in that respect, Don Jr. should be on Rumble. Just don’t call it a podcast, please.

Having a presence on YouTube and Rumble takes a lot of work. I am sure a crap load of editing goes on with t these YouTube creators. I can’t do it.

I probably won’t watch Triggered with Don Jr. on Rumble. I like him, but sometimes he comes off as a hyped-up infomercial host. It increases my heart rate, and I feel like I get a workout listening to him. Not because of what he is saying or his content. But it is his high-energy loudness of him that makes me feel jittery.

Smaller/Indie Podcasts

Most smaller podcasts, however, will only put up an image of their logo or cover art in the video stream, and that’s what you are looking at the whole time.

I am a small podcaster, so I don’t see the purpose of putting my audio on YouTube or Rumble. My podcast is unorthodox, offbeat, and nonconformist if you will. I don’t use fancy equipment, and I don’t edit my podcast. No homemade studio can be found in my house.

Instead, I speak into the voice recording app on my iPhone while sitting in my car in a parking lot. My vehicle makes a great little sound studio. After recording, I will save it to files and upload it to directly my podcast service, Buzzsprout. And that’s it; I’m done. It will probably take a total of 15 minutes at most.

This way works for me. It is easy and convenient. Yes, of course, I have a smaller audience. I only have seven steady listeners, and I am okay with that. Podcasting, for me, is fun. I only do it for fun. I enjoy it. Once I stop enjoying myself, I will quit.
