Carol ReMarks on Don Lemon and his opinion that all Trump supporters are members of white supremacy, aka the klan.
On Don Lemon
Don Lemon believes that all Trump voters are racist and part of the klan. He said so on his network CNN.
Look, I am not thrilled with the outcome of the election. But I am also not going to get ugly with it either. I will call out facts and truths though.
I have also decided to be positive, about everything. I can only change my attitude.
My social media accounts have been adjusted accordingly; muting and unfollowing certain political people, brands, channels, influencers, and the like.
The life I lead will be by example. I will continue to treat others how I would like to be treated and without asking their political stance.
I am all for free speech too, which is why I am not walking around demanding that Don Lemon be fired.
The rhetoric has gotten way out of control, however. But again, nothing I can do about that except to lead my life as a positive, God-loving American who is willing to help my neighbor and love they neighbor.
From Mark 12:28-31
“One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, ‘Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
The answer, how it reads from my NIV Bible is this, “Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God, The Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this:, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
You know I am not one who normally throws out the Bible at people. Because I haven’t read or studied it in depth. I have started though.
So that’s what I am going to do. It does not mean, however, I will be quiet. Again, I will call out the lies and untruths. I will call out people like Don Lemon who wants to continue to divide and spread malicious content to get people ginned up.
He did say one thing in that video that I agree with, believe it or not. When he says, “if working white Americans and working black Americans could come together they would have more political power than the people who are using them.” Amen I say to that! And that, Mr. Lemon, is exactly and indeed what we are trying to do.
And whether Mr. Lemon likes it or not, that is what Trump understood and was trying to fix for the regular folks. But to rant and bombast all Trump supporters as klansman? Well that, I cannot let go.
I have a short story to tell you about when I first moved to the south. I grew up in southern OHIO where there were literally no black people. Weird, right? But we had televisions and my parents watched the news while I played in the background and paid a little bit of attention as a small child.
Never was I taught to hate anyone that is not the same color as me. And for some reason, I did not learn about about the civil rights until later, when I was a teenager, and it was taught well. I understood.
When I moved to the south, Georgia first, I was in my early to mid 20s which made the time around 1987-1988ish. I remember a conversation with a fellow co-worker and they brought up the topic of the KKK.
I was like “the KKK? They don’t exist anymore, that was back in the 1950s and 1960s!” And I believed it because I saw it in my school text books in black and white photos. I really thought the klan was abolished, truly I did.
Now, as a 54-year old, I know better. Today, those people are like Casu marzu (maggot-infested cheese from Sardinia). It is a food, and it’s there for you to eat, but most everyone hates it and would not try it, I would imagine.
I will not watch the inauguration. I am limiting myself to certain news organizations. And I will continue to workout, blog, and podcast. I will continue to live my regular everyday life as a parent, wife, employee, friend, and as a child of God.
A prayer will be said for Don Lemon.
