Project April

I used to be a member of Street Parking for over a year and when I quit my job in December of 2019 I decided to cancel my membership, temporarily.

Now that I’ve heard from my job (today as a matter of fact) telling me that yes, indeed, we are moving forward with training and full on employment during this strange time of pandemics and isolation – I can now rejoin Street Parking. It was the plan all the time, to rejoin as soon as I had an income again.

So, #ProjectApril – I did my workout today and since I am not yet a member I had to make up my own WOD using devil press and lungesters. So this is what I came up with:

20 Minute EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute)

2 devel press 15# DB

2 lungesters 15# DB

I decided on 20 minutes because I was able to complete the 2+2 in just under 30 seconds, leaving a 30 second rest before the next round began. I also used my lighter weight DBs at 15# so I felt I could hang on for a full 20 minutes. I’m not gonna lie, it started getting a little rough when I had only 6 rounds left to go.

Anyway, it felt good and guess what else? Project April has injected me with positivity and hope.

All of a sudden my brain was like,

Hey Carol, let’s focus on Project April, live your life and stop worrying and fretting over what you cannot control.

I can control my workouts, I can control washing my hands, I can control sanitizing things, I can control the 6-foot rule. I can control my usage of social media and news-watching. I can control what goes in my brain and body.

So that is exactly what I am going to do. Just keep living and doing, granted, with a little more precaution and that’s about all any of us can do.
