I finally have a blog project. 1980 decade movies. That’s right. It is the decade of excess and great movies.
A Blog Project
The project is to watch a movie that was made in the 1980s and then write about. Yes, like a review. It will be good writing practice for me and it will be fun to re-live the ‘good ole days’ while doing it.
From a Google search, Marie Claire has a list of the 45 Best Ranked Movies from the 1980s. I will work from that list because I already perused it and it lists some of the movies I had in mind anyway.
Top Gun will be the first movie that I do because Maverick comes out May 24th. I’ve read and heard nothing but fantastic reviews of the new one, Maverick. So, we shall see. Look for my Top Gun blog entry this weekend, probably late Sunday night.
The original Top Gun debuted in 1986, a year after I graduated high school and I was already in the Navy so I don’t know if I was able to watch this in theaters or if I waited for VHS from Hollywood Video or not. I am sure I caught this one in the theaters at some point!
I’m excited about this blog project. It’s right up my alley. I like watching movies and I like writing, so…….
No deadline given for this project, not yet anyway. I don’t know that I need one for this endeavor. It may be ongoing. But, I will try to do one per weekend. How’s that?
While I am doing Top Gun this weekend, I will have to skip Memorial Day weekend because I will be out of town. It will pick back up the first weekend in June.
Gah, how is it almost JUNE already?!
