The wig I am reviewing here, is in the Noriko collection brought to you by the Aderans Hair Goods and the style is called Storm.

It can be kind of confusing when you start hearing about brand names and wig companies.

Like cosmetics, a lot of collections and brands can fall (or live) under one company. In other words, one big corporation can own a lot of smaller labels and brands.

I used to work for Estée Lauder. They own around 20 well-known brands. Here are just a few of them:

• Aveda
• Clinique
• Bumble & Bumble
• Jo Malone London
• Mac

That’s just a short list.

I would image the wig world is no different. And when I say wig companies, I do not mean the online boutiques that sell the wigs.

No, I am referring to brand names like Belle Tress, Raquel Welch, Gabor, Rene of Paris, and Noriko to name a few.

Let me see if I can break them down for you here:

HAIRUWEAR – wig company and their brands/labels are:

• Gabor
• Raquel Welch
• Hairdo

They have more but those are the ones you may be more familiar with.

Aderans Hair Goods – wig company and some of their brands/labels are:

• Rene of Paris
• Noriko
• Amore

I believe Belle Tress, Estetica, and Envy wigs stand on their own, they don’t live under an umbrella.

And an interesting side note – the automobile industry is the same way. At least for Jaguar/Land Rover – they used to be owned by BMW, then Ford, and the latest owner is a company called Tata Motors. That’s no joke. I used to sell cars too.
