I’m a woman, I don’t read or look at Playboy but I have heard the news about Bretman Rock, the first gay man to be put on the cover of Playboy. Playboy is gay.
His debut cover is digital only, the print publication ceased in March of 2020; a casualty of the coronavirus I guess.
But I am curious, are men checking out Playboy online? And if so, will they continue to do so now that they put a gay man on the cover?
I also have to ask, why? Why do they need to put a gay man on the cover of Playboy? I guess because Playgirl was such a big hit, said sarcastically. Playgirl was so popular they went under in 2016 with scuttlebutt going around that they only had 3,000 subscribers at the time.
So again, what moron executive thought it would be a great idea to put a dude on the cover of Playboy? Could it be another victim of pressure from a certain community? Obey us or experience our wrath! What wrath? Do they actually have that much pull anymore?
Sure, maybe at one time the community had a lot of muscle but they are starting to experience propagandist extinction. The gay community has become so normalized now that they are running out of people and businesses to bully.
You know, in all honesty, I don’t care about Playboy and what or whom they put on the digital cover. I don’t look at it, I don’t visit the site, never had subscribed to it “for the articles” either. I just needed a blog topic and this one seemed good.
Somewhere, I read that they stopped doing full-on nude photos of the women years ago anyway. So maybe their articles really are good enough for standalone. I don’t know and I won’t investigate further.
To each their own and entertainment for all. Thanks for reading.
